HAEMATOLOGIST

Dr Olga Motorna is a clinical haematologist consulting at Eastern Haematology Oncology Group, the Austin Hospital, Monash Health and Eastern Health.

Olga obtained a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Hope College in Michigan, and following a year of research at the Van Andel Cancer Research Institute, she moved to Ireland where she completed her medical studies at Trinity College Dublin. She relocated to Melbourne in 2012 and underwent her physician training and haematology advanced training at Monash Health and the Alfred Hospital. She holds dual Fellowships with the Royal Australasian College of Physicians and the Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia. She is currently finishing her PhD studies at the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre where she is elucidating mechanisms of epigenetic regulation in multiple myeloma. She is a recipient of NHMRC Scholarship and HSANZ New Investigator Scholarship, and most recently she was the second author on a publication in Molecular Cell journal.

Olga is passionate about evidence-based empathic patient-centered care. She enjoys managing the breadth of haematological conditions, with a special interest in haematological malignancies in particular multiple myeloma.

Outside of her professional career, she can be found spending time with her husband and three rambunctious boys, reading, or listening to live jazz.
